I would say it is quite patriotic. Not in the sense that it promotes ultranationalism like other countries, but public education tries to romanticize some aspects of Mexican history to make people proud of some victories, and it will make look other shady events less important. read more

Patriotism goes beyond public education. Streets have the names of national heroes or things related to history. Every city has a street named after Miguel Hidalgo, or 16 de septiembre. With the division of religion and state, many religious events were banned, and substituted with national holidays. read more
