It would seem they don't, judging by the variety of knockoffs. Of course, where I live, we don't refer to chocolate spreads as "chocolate spread," or even as "knockoffs." We call them all "Nutella," so they certainly have the market cornered. read more
No Nutella does not have a monopoly on chocolate spreads, but they are the largest brand for such spreads in many countries, especially most of western Europe and North-America. read more
