Does smoke detectors respond to joss sticks?

Best Answers

The type of smoke doesn't matter, and it doesn't even have to be smoke, there are tons of ways to set these things off. If you're burning incense in the same room as the smoke detector, it likely won't go off, as the smoke-to-air ratio won't get high enough, but you can hold the stick up to the vent in the detector to set it off if that's what you're trying to do. read more

It depends on proximity of the incense stick to the smoke detector, the size of the enclosed space both of them are in (if applicable), how much ventilation there is, and whether the smoke from the incense stick is flowing toward or away from the smoke detector. read more
