Does the memorization of a multiplication table help?

Why do all of the basic math tutorials talk to me like I'm 6? I'M A ... I'm 20 years old studing mechanical engineering and I still can't memorize the table. .... it kinda sucks that I'm in grade 7 and I still struggle with my multiplication table. read more

According to my vies,it is very much useful. Multiplication is a shortcut of addition. Atleast 1–16 tables[16*16=256] should be memorized. I have done this when I was studying 4th standard. read more

The curriculum document doesn’t explicitly state the memorization of multiplication tables as an expectation, but it does require that concepts be delivered using a variety of strategies and tools/manipulatives.
