Kaiser Permanente is called Kaiser Permanente because it was founded by Henry Kaiser in WWII to provide medical care for his ship yard employees as part of an affordable worker's collective. Our History (A bit of history.) Maybe it's not the best branding, but it's history. This may be why they launched the "Thrive" campaign in the early 2000's. read more
