I think you have to define "quality" here, and even then it'll be very complicated. The thing is that Hyundai/Kia these days are definitely offering much better specs on paper than Toyota/Honda. Just look at Hyundai's transmission offerings. read more
In initial/build quality, Hyundai and Kia are probably competitive with Toyota and Honda, in fact, many automakers are competitive with Toyota and Honda's build quality. But Toyota and Honda still have the best design quality and many of their components have noticeably higher quality. read more
Toyota and Nissan make excellent cars with virtually no problems. Toyota has a long and illustrious history of making impeccable cars. They have very high quality control. Second place goes to Nissan. Korean cars like KIA have no resale value and they can't compete with toyota and Nissan in terms of quality of parts and service. read more
