P.D. Poole: Thanks for your comment. I agree some of the similarities between Jesus and Buddha are superficial and could just be coincidental. But there are other parts of their life stories (the mythical parts, like walking on water) that are part of the "hero archetype." As for Jesus being the second coming of Buddha--it was a facetious question. read more

(Buddha didn’t believe this but there are sects that do - reincarnation is offered as the process for a person with all the qualities needed to get to the state of Nirvana). Nirvana is a state which all six bases (Eye, Ear, Nose, Tongue, Body and Mind) no longer feel. read more
