We're up with the chickens checking out the bluebonnet fields of Ennis, Texas! Here's our baby, Mach Road! She's doing better than 2013 but not like 2012 -- but gorgeous nonetheless. The bluebonnets, as well as the rest of the Texas wildflowers are wonderful right now in San Antonio and the Hill Country. After last year's drought and a good soak this spring the flowers are the best we've seen in years. I was in the Hill Country last weekend and the flowers were everywhere. read more

#10 Big Bend National Park - As if you need a reason to visit Big Bend, there are bluebonnets in full bloom there, right now. They aren't exactly the same bluebonnets we see in Central Texas. They tend to grow more sparse and much taller, but if you can't wait until Spring to see bluebonnets, make the drive out west. GRADE : C+. read more

Right now along T.C. Jester and White Oak Bayou there are plenty to be found. The Mercer Arboretum in Humble has a few beds of bluebonnets that people can stand in front of and pathways they can use to get shots of bluebonnets without disturbing them. read more
