Shinto means “Way of the Gods” and is the name of the religion, in original Japanese. Shintoism is an Anglicized noun that means basically the same thing. I say that I practice Shinto or that I am a follower of Shinto. I try to avoid anglicization because while not incorrect, seems redundant. read more

Shinto is a religion in every regard. You can't argue that it isn't a religion because it is. You should argue that Shinto is a lifestyle AS WELL AS a religion, which would make more sense (although you can say that for every religion). read more
