The child will naturally attribute some of their parents characteristics to their gender or other superficial things like skin colour. It would be ridiculous to suggest parents have to be the same in most aspects to teach the child gender equality. Also that's not the point of gender equality. read more
Teach them that gender is fluid. Gender is one of the first social categories children become aware of. By the time they are 3 years old, they have formed their gender identity. So much of what limits boys and girls is rooted in socially constructed ideas about what one is or isn’t permitted to do within their gender. read more
