Many Mexicans (mostly those from rural areas as urban Mexicans don't interact with the country's native population as much) see the native peoples as being their intellectual and social inferiors. The native live in isolated areas, they are often very poor and they hold onto traditions which other groups in Mexico either see as being superstitious or backwards. read more
