In order to be eligible for import into Australia, animal species must be listed on the Commonwealth Government's Live Import List under the EPBC Act. However, the corn snake is not included in the Live Import List making importation of the species into Australia illegal. read more
Until this question, I had never heard of a corn snake. A quick Google shows that it’s a dangerous exotic snake: Eastern corn snake for example. It’s not dangerous to humans-we have plenty of them already-but it has the potential to be destructive to the environment. As a result, they’re prohibited. read more
