How common are worms in pistachios?

If food inspection was required to a level that would completely eliminate any bugs in nuts, or a stone in dried beans, or a feather on some chicken legs, the price of food would skyrocket. You could try to return it to the store where you bought it. read more

After finding out about the navel orange worm that makes its home in various nuts especially pistachios, I started looking at each nut, I found that in each bag I would find at least 3 nuts that had been eaten by the worm or had the worm still in the nut. read more
