How dangerous are the volcanoes in Oregon and Washington?

In theory, the volcanoes are dormant, but as we saw with Mt. St. Helens, a dormant volcano can come back to life. Generally the danger with these volcanoes is considered to be mudslides, or lahars. Since these mountains are surrounded by national parks, an eruption is a consideration but not a very great one. read more
