The deep river is fairly shallow, and most of it is about a few inches to 3 ft deep. Some lower parts of the deep river gets about 17 ft to 20 ft deep. read more
From Leadville the Arkansas River flows southeast for about 100 miles (160 km) to Canon City, Colo., falling 6,750 feet (2,060 m). It leaves the mountains near Canon City through the Royal Gorge, a narrow canyon cut into solid granite with vertical walls more than 1,000 feet (300 m) high. read more
