Vivaldi died in Vienna on July 28th 1741 (exactly nine years before Bach, btw) supposedly of 'internal infection'. This could mean a lot of things, unfortunately, since descriptions of diseases were considered a rather poetic activity in 18th century (as theories of Mozart's demise in the same city half a century later could attest). read more
