Mozart, a character larger than life, died of a common disease. The only thing that Fitzgerald had to go on, were written descriptions from Mozart's physicians and family that were published 35 years after his death. They detailed a sudden onset of high fever, rash, headaches and pain and swelling in his limbs. Despite staying alert, Mozart did appear to become agitated within the first week. read more
