Originally, Kristie, Scott, and Mitch came together in order to send a video off to a "Glee" competition. They did a rendition of Lady Gaga's "Telephone," and although they didn't win, they did get some popularity from it. read more

Eventually, they graduated, went to college, and came back together as a group when Scott found out about the TV program "Sing Off." Avi was found through as a mutual friend while the four found Kevin on YouTube. And that's how Pentatonix came to be a group. read more

Pentatonix began with Kirstin "Kirstie" Maldonado (born May 16, 1992), Mitchell "Mitch" Grassi (born July 24, 1992), and Scott Hoying (born September 17, 1991) who grew up together and were schoolmates at Martin High School in Arlington, Texas. read more
