This art style continued to spread from Italy towards Western Europe, especially in the first half of the XVII-Th century. By the beginning of the XVIII-th century, the Baroque style had spread towards Central, Northern, and Eastern Europe. Latin America was also strongly influenced by the Baroque Style. read more

Baroque is similar to Renaissance art in that the High-Renaissance immediately proceeded Baroque as an artistic period. Baroque (and later Rococo) was championed by the Roman Catholic Church (as was the Renaissance) and as such it’s funding and scholarship was based on methodologies developed during the Renaissance. read more
