First, Beavers are younger than the BSA Cub Scouts. Beavers in Canada are for Scouts aged 5–7, while BSA Cubs are aged 7–10. The uniforms are really, really different. BSA Cubs wear pretty formal blue shirts with lots of patches, while the Beavers have a fairly comfortable and informal t-shirt and floppy hat combination. read more

Beaver Scouts are young people aged between 6 and 8 years old. There is core flexibility in the age range: young people can join from age 5¾, and can move to Cubs between age 7½ and 8½. It may sometimes be appropriate to extend this flexibility for young people with additional needs. read more
