I grew up in Atlanta and moved to Chicago about 3 months ago so I can only provide my first impressions on the city. Weather- Atlanta is on average much warmer than Chicago in both the summer and winter. read more

The other difference is that Atlanta is mostly a city of connected suburbs. There is a downtown and a midtown but the bulk of people who live here are in the suburbs. The downtown can seem like a ghost town to people accustomed to other large cities. read more

I do not agree that Atlanta is more diverse than Chicago, not even close. Chicago is far more diverse and the census stats prove it. Atlanta is a black/white city primarily w/ a successful black presence probably not found anywhere else in the US like it. read more
