How do/did/will Daleks fight a 'time war' without time travel?

Both the Dalek Supreme, the head of the Renegade Dalek faction and Davros, the leader of the Imperial Dalek faction desired time travel of the kind already possessed by the Time Lords and sought the Hand of Omega, a Time Lord artefact which could enable this. read more

The Daleks have had time travel capabilities since (I think) their third serial, The Chase, and were attempting to gain control of time in Remembrance of the Daleks, before the Time War started. It's not unreasonable to think that they were prepared for a Time War, while the Time Lords were probably caught off guard. read more

Both sides in the fight have time travel. That, IMO, changes the whole dynamics of the war. If you have time travel and the enemy does not, you just go back in time and stop him doing whatever he was doing. But if you both do, then you've transformed the battlefield into one where cause and effect may not seem to have much to do with each other. read more
