If the Sun is circling above the earth, the maximum lateral distance it could be from an observer is 25,000 miles. That is just over 8 times further away than it's height above the observer. For the flat earth theory to work the Sun would have to fade from view in much less distance than that. Lets figure 15,000 miles at most. read more
