New Yorkers are rude, jaded, obnoxious and will not help you when you fall. Until they do. Most of the bias comes from the perspective of the tourist. Living here my whole life, I can't imagine life outside the city. New Yorkers have attitudes, sure, but they are very helpful and we are all human after all. All Upstate New Yorkers view New York City as expensive, just like the rest of the world, New York City included. Upstate New York is not very culturally diverse, and the stark contrast with New York City is obvious. read more
