How do stray dogs in India get water to drink?

In some cities there is a Bowl of Life project undertaken, through this project various animal welfare NGOs place a cement water bowl on the side of the roads, under trees, outside shops etc for animals and birds to drink water from. Being a dog lover, I know that most of the stray dogs are looking for homes to live, just like any dog would.
