Muslims are by far the poorest among us. I have not seen such crowds of beggars outside a temple as I have seen in Muslim localities outside dargahs and mosques. People generally buy the stuff from butchers’ shops. read more
To this day my older brother is a Pescatarian. He is mostly vegetarian but will eat certain seafoods. Me I kind of followed in his footsteps I mainly keep a vegetarian diet at home. Now, if I am at a friends house for dinner and meat is on the table I will eat it, as I don't want to be rude to the host. read more
For those on the Hajj the festival celebration is just incorporated into the full pilgrimage experience, but for those who are not, the centerpiece of the festival is the ritual sacrifice, again in memory of Ibrahim, of the best herd animals (assuming one has the means to do so): cows when applicable, but also sheep, goats, and camels as the case may be. read more
