Turn on your TV and your Apple TV. Make sure your Apple TV and your Mac are both connected to the same wifi network. In the task tray in the upper right corner of your Mac, look for the AirPlay icon. Click on the AirPlay icon and you should see your Apple TV available for mirroring. read more
Enter your Apple ID and password in the fields, and click the "Create Home Share" button. Click the "Done" button. Step. Go back to your TV, and toggle to the "Computer" tab. If you have to buy an adapter because your TV doesn't support HDMI, look for a [Mac output] to [TV input] adapter (e.g., "USB-C to VGA" or "Thunderbolt 2 to VGA") along with an audio to RCA cable to connect audio to your TV. read more
You will need to have both your MacBook and your Apple TV connected to the same network in order to mirror your MacBook's display. You can determine which network your Apple TV is connected to by opening its Settings, selecting Network, and looking at the name next to the "Wi-Fi" heading. read more
