Legge and the Vegetarian Society add nuts to their haggis – ground peanuts and hazelnuts in the latter case, toasted and chopped mixed nuts for Legge – but, though haggis should never be a light affair, I think mine has enough bulk without them. read more
Haggis should always be served piping hot and kept moist while cooking. To cook in water: Wrap a traditional haggis tightly in foil and place in a large saucepan of cold water. Bring to the boil, and then simmer very, very gently, as you do not want to burst the haggis, for the following times: 60 minutes for a 1 lb+ (500g) haggis. read more
Delicious! Nothing like actual vegetarian haggis, but very tasty nonetheless. It had an almost Thai flavour, especially from the lemon. The leftovers made a nice curry. read more
