Dish is a huge value if you are not a sports fan. They do not carry any of the four local NY regional sports networks (YES, SNY, MSG, MSG+) in a huge attempt to cut costs. read more

The cheapest TV service you can get from Time Warner is their Starter TV package that gives you over 20 channels as well as free local HD channels. With TWC’s Starter TV you can get an HD-DVR or HD Box, or opt not to use a box at all. read more

Also with satellite keep in mind that Dish does not offer broadband as fast as Time Warner Cable or Verizon FiOS. TWC, on the other hand, is a full service cable company offering many more channels and broadband, but costs much more than Dish. read more
