It is not recommended to take Pepto-Bismol with warfarin. The problem is the fact that pesto-bismol has salicylate in it which is known to effect certain clotting factors by interfering with vitamin K. read more
pepto bismol is a medication which contains salicylate and does thin the blood, but it works by a separate mechanism than coumadin does. because coumadin and pepto bismol affect blood clotting in different ways, their effect is additive and could result in potentially serious bleeding. read more
