GM isn't very forthcoming with the method of their AWD. From what I can tell, it is essentially the 4WD system from the rest of the GMT line, but it applies braking pressure individually to slipping wheels with the TCS. There should be an LSD or locker in the rear, center and possibly front to assist. read more

Explanation D: The Denali AWD is basically an auto 4x4. The back wheels provide the power at all times, unless they slip. When they do, the front engages as well. read more
