A good guard dog should be friendly and not attack a stranger after properly introduced. Hyena's being a wild animal, I don't expect this happening. Furthermore a good guard dog be loyal and obedient towards the owner. Again I don't think Hyena's can be taught to obey various commands like a normal guard dog. read more

Agree, the hyena will better be able to dish out the punishment but 2 rotties are more than powerful enough to subdue the hyenas head and wear it out. Assuming the dogs can prevent the hyena from retaliating they are more than capable of exhausting it and applying a choke hold. read more
