How good are orchestra seats on Broadway?

Best Answers

Orchestra seats are the best, I generally try to sit in the first 10 rows. Try to sit in the middle section, if available, and a few rows back (say, starting in the 3rd row). I prefer to sit very, very close because I have an emotional tie to musicals and I try to take in all the "aspects," such as dancing, singing, etc. read more

People assume that center orchestra seats are the only good ones; but it depends on how deep the orchestra is, and how far back you are. Some Broadway theaters have relatively shallow orchestra sections (e.g. Walter Kerr, Lyceum), while others have significantly deeper orchestra sections (Richard Rodgers, Lunt-Fontanne, Broadway). read more

Seating is personal preference and does depend on the theater. I like aisle seats best and will always opt for one if it's available. For a musical, often first few rows of the mezzanine is better than back of the orchestra but try to get as close to the center of the theater as possible (not on extreme sides). read more
