How good was the 2006 vintage in Piedmont?

2016. Piemonte produced excellent quality wine in 2016, with ripeness to match the very good 2015 but firmer tannin and higher acidity. Ideal harvest conditions allowed the Nebbiolo to ripen fully, and yields were higher than average too. Arneis also fared well, producing precise, juicy white wines. read more

For the top quality producers, in Barolo and Barbaresco, it will be a good to great vintage despite the difficult growing season. Early July was very hot (similar to 2003) and had severe drought. read more
