The need for a no-meeting Wednesday in such a situation indicates a problem. Meetings are necessary when you require real time conversation amongst the stake holders. Where there are multiple issues and the stake holders for all the issues don't match exactly you should have multiple meetings and let the rest of your group work. read more

It has shown that when an employee is interrupted, it takes an average of 23 minutes and 15 seconds to get back into a flow. It is no surprise that that companies like Facebook and Asana have polices on meetings. They participate in something called No-Meetings-Wednesday.
