I think the best response is that all orchestral music since the start of the romantic era is influenced by romantic music. The most obvious and ubiquitous today would be orchestral film music which is pretty much universally in some form of ‘neo-romantic’ category by definition. read more

In my opinion romantic music was the style that changed everything in terms of the former stated art form. It made music less formal, and more for everday consumption. It made music about emotions, and opened the doors for new composers to break the rules. Your opinion on this matter would be appreciated. read more
