How important is Silver the hedgehog in the Sonic franchise?

Sonic 06 happened over a decade ago and sonic boom rise of lyric wasn't even made by sega or sonic team. The third one is, arguably, sonic and the secret rings specifically for its crappy controls. Other than those few, there really isn't such thing as a straight up bad sonic game. read more

Because of that, Sonic grew culturally void and became equated with childish pastel environments. Even still, for a long time even after '06, most people just left the Sonic franchise alone. read more
