Dublin is a great place to live without a car, since like many places in Europe it is very easy to walk or take public transportation wherever you might need to go. I was living quite far outside the center of the city, but I found it very easy to get around, and to quickly get in to class (I was at Trinity). read more

That said, expats who manage to secure a job in Ireland are usually paid enough to ensure a good quality of life despite the expenses.
