As mentioned, food waste is just tossed in the bins in the back of the trucks as they drive by. You can put them in any bag or container, and just empty it as they drive by (You just can't toss whatever you use to hold it into the compost, but sometimes you can throw out bags in the back of the truck with the regular garbage). read more
