How is the job market in Dallas, Texas?

Among the dozen largest metropolitan areas in the U.S., Dallas had both the highest job growth rate and the most jobs added from November 2016 to November 2017. That's according to new information from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, which released its November data Thursday morning. read more

The area's largest employers are business-, finance- and educated-related, such as the AMR Corporation, Bank of America Corporation and Texas Health Resources. However, in-demand jobs also include retail and sales associates, nurses, teachers, systems engineers and accountants. read more

That ranked North Texas behind New York City with 156,400 new jobs and Los Angeles with 135,100 new jobs in 2015, and also lagged the record 140,000 employment growth that Dallas-Fort Worth posted in 2014. read more

The Fort Worth side of the metroplex had a job growth rate of 5.2 percent, which is double the Dallas side's job growth rate in manufacturing of 2.6 percent.
