How long can leopard geckos go without food?

Best Answers

A leopard gecko can go two weeks without food, but it is best to feed him/her ten crickets (or more) a week. I find it handy to put about twenty crickets or less in the cage with my leopard gecko at a time, as long as you keep an apple (or potato) slice for the crickets in the container and let him eat at his own pace. read more

How long depends largely on the condition and age of the gecko. A really young gecko needs to eat almost daily or its growth can be stunted, and it can even die. An adult gecko with plenty of fat reserves in his tail could probably survive for months- not that it would be good for him. read more

If he hasn't lost weight I wouldn't worry. In the winter they can go weeks without food. One of my males hasn't eaten i 3 weeks and hasn't lost a gram. Some of my others just eat a lot less, and the youngest, 25g and under, eat normally. read more
