Accutane will usually start to work within the first 1-2 months, but some patients will actually worsen during this initial phase, and this is normal too. Each patient will have a different experience, and very few patients are still breaking out towards the end of their treatment. read more

Not sure if it was because of the up in dosage, stress from work, poor diet (i ate a lot of sweets a few days prior to breaking out, and that has always been somewhat of a trigger for my acne), or a combination of all of those. It takes some time to see results though. Accutane does in fact reduce the amount of oil that your sebaceous glands will produce. I started to see results about 2 or 3 months into treatment. Remember that it may become a bit worse until you start to see improvement. read more
