How many circles are there in the Olympic flag?

There are five rings in the Olympic flag and they represent the five continents. They were designed by Pierre de Coubertin in 1925. He was the man who founded the modern Olympics. My guess is he did not include Antarctica because it has is no permanent population and he counted Europe and Asia as one continent. read more

Antwerp flag. The first Olympic flag was presented to the Jr National Olympics at the 1920 Summer Olympics by the city of Antwerp, Belgium. At the end of the Games, the flag could not be found and a new Olympic flag had to be made for the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris. read more
