There were many species of pterosaur, and they probably varied a lot in reproductive stategies, Unfortunately we do not have much direct evidence. There are currently only a couple of known pterosaur egg fossils, and none of them show how many were laid at a time. Hopefully more evidence will be found some day. read more

Chemical analysis of the egg suggests that, instead of laying hard-shell eggs and watching over the chicks, as most birds do, pterosaur mothers laid soft-shell eggs, which they buried in moist ground and abandoned. read more
