How many genes are in a starfish?

Sorry - Not sure - I’m not even sure if anyone has sequenced the starfish genome. It’s not a major undertaking to sequence genes anymore, but you need a justification/motivation to want to do it in the first place. read more

Starfish have a light sensitive eyespot at the tip of each arm. These are the closest thing to eyes they have. They also have photoreceptors scattered in their skin that can sense light. They don't have eyes in the sense that we do or even like lobsters or fish do. read more
