How many novels should an avid reader read in a year?

An avid reader can read a novel in a single week if he/she spends 1 hour on reading each day, which is sufficient. Consider having 320 hours in the whole year, thus you will be able to read 40 novels in a year easily. That's a lot for me though. It varies from reader to reader, my dad used to read around 10 books on average and since most were medicine books that's heavy reading, me on the other hand usually read 4-5 books each week between school/work related material light and not so light novels and rereading some favorite books that I always enjoyed. read more
