How many pounds of ground beef per person for tacos?

Best Answers

To make tacos for 20 people, purchase 7 1/2 to 8 1/2 pounds of raw beef to make approximately 6 ounces of cooked beef per guest. Also, buy 6 1/4 to 7 1/2 pounds of boneless chicken to provide 4 to 5 ounces of cooked poultry per guest. read more

You could say that a normal taco is probably about 1/4 lb of meat, maybe 1/5th for a lighter taco but it's usually better to expect people to pig out. Quarter pound per taco, two tacos per person would be somewhere around 32lbs. 80/20 beef is gonna lose some weight to the pan so you might want to adjust accordingly. read more
