The NAACP was formed by a mixture of blacks and whites in 1909 as a result of outrage at Southern lynchings. It still has white members. The percentage is hard to find. read more
Sure! White people helped start the NAACP. One of their biggest friends was Dorothy Parker, the wit and writer who was a staple of the Algonquin Circle in NYC in the forties.
