Each region has its own annual average rainfall. For instance, most of the Sahara desert receives around 20mm per year of rain, while some parts get less than 1 mm. While the painted desert I Arizona receives 161 mm per year of rain on average. Desert is a clarification given to regions which see less than 250 mm of rainfall per year on average. read more
