You can buy a used Elkhart Conn 8D that will (I’m assuming) suit your needs just fine, I and several colleagues played on an Elkhart conn 8d throughout our years at Juilliard. It doesn't make sense to buy a beginner horn because you'll outgrow it very quickly. If you can't borrow or rent, and you're sure you want to play for a while, save up for an intermediate level horn. Those are around 1500 used. read more
